Neighborhood Volunteer Opportunities for Summer

For those of you interested in helping out in city-wide neighborhood events, here are some summer volunteer opportunities.  Please note dates and times.

CON Used Book Sale, Swingin’ Summer Eve
Wednesday, July 18
As part of Swingin’ Summer Eve Concert

Event is 5:30-8:30 pm (book drop off starting at 4:15 pm)

Shoreline Farmer’s Market Neighborhoods Outreach Tent
Neighborhood Outreach Booth on 5 Saturdays:
June 16, June 30, July 14, August 11, September 22
City of Shoreline City Hall, upper parking lot
17500 Midvale Avenue North
Parking available: City Hall lower lot, or along eastern fence line of Walgreen’s
Market runs 10 am – 3 pm

Neighborhood Leaders Potluck Picnic
Wednesday, Aug 1
Twin Ponds Park, 15401 1st Ave NE (parking at 2 lots – north & south end  of park on 1st Ave NE)
6:00 picnic/potluck at Community Garden    6:45 Parks Director Dick Deal “tour”
7:10 pm Steward John Dixon “tour” of arboretum

Council of Neighborhoods Parade Entry for Celebrate Shoreline Parade
Saturday, August 18
St. Marks School, 18033 15th Ave NE (look for CON Banner)
11:00 am gather at St. Marks, Noon Parade starts, approx. 1:30 pm arrive at Ridgecrest Elementary
Adults, children, strollers, tricycles and well-mannered pets are welcome!

Interurban Adopt-a-Trail
Sundays 6/10/2012, 7/22/2012, and 8/26/2012     11:00 AM – 12:30 PM
Meet at Denny’s Parking Lot, next to Interurban Bridges, N. 155th & Aurora Ave N.
CON Adopt a Trail clean up days are designated to help maintain our pathway, help students meet volunteer hours and socialize.
