The Council of Neighborhoods was formed in 1996 as a result of Shoreline City Councils belief in the value of citizen participation through formal neighborhood organizations as an integral part of its service to the community.
City Council Resolution 54 established the Council of Neighborhoods with a mission to promote interaction, communication and fellowship within the City of Shoreline. This builds a strong foundation of neighborhood associations working together toward the common good.
Objectives set by the Council of Neighborhoods are communication of information with citizens, connection of citizens with their City of Shoreline, promotion of neighborhood involvement, fostering of partnerships and networking ideas/programs among neighborhoods. The Council of Neighborhoods further provides a forum for raising issues, exploring potential solutions, and, when appropriate, recommending possible action to the City.
All Council of Neighborhood meetings are open to the public.
